Thank you to all who came to Celebrate Summer Tech Baes networking event. Once again, we are humbled by the turnout and the amazing conversation, connections, comradery. The energy, the power unleashed, in the Viacom Amphitheater. Dangerously amazing! (And note to those who attended or were unable to – lemonade & prosecco is amazing.)
Did you wonder why six women showed up in white to the fourth Tech Baes event? (Thank heavens—it’s after Memorial Day—so the fashion police say “can do!”). White is not only a summer color, but it happens to be chosen by the Suffragettes to stand out (black & white photography was the only medium) and represent the purity of their movement. We at Tech Baes feel the same about what we’re all building together – a community for women for pulling each other up, providing support, and celebrating our value in Ad Tech!
But…wearing white while drinking lemonade? A bit dangerous with the potential of a yellow spill—but well worth it! You see, we wanted to visualize entrepreneurship; what better image than a Lemonade Stand. Entrepreneurship was the topic for our panel at host Viacom. We shared with Viacom’s amazing women our entrepreneurial journey of building Tech Baes—the good, the bad, and the “scrappy.”
Being an entrepreneur is a bit dangerous! Taking risks, being willing to fail, and knowing your power – these are all traits of the successful entrepreneur and ones that the five of us founders live by. In starting this community, we believe that we’re connecting others looking for the same thing, regardless of level, experience, or background. And—we believe that we are all finding power in this together! (Shout Out to the Girls Who Code interns who, after the event, connected to many of the attendees via LinkedIn! This is what we’re talking about!)
What an event! Gratitude to Dr. Sharon Melnick (https://www.sharonmelnick.com/), as she shared insights about how to unleash internal power and asked amazing questions! And, thanks, again, to Viacom for hosting the panel, supporting women, and proving a lovely spread.
We trust that you, Bae, will find how best to start something new, connect with other Baes, and wear white while drinking lemonade. We cannot wait to share plans for the fall…
Dangerously dedicated to you all,
Brenda, Christina, Heather, Sarah & Seema
Tech Baes
